Education/Candidate Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Science, or chemistry is required.2+ years in a technical leadership role. Experience in a metals industry is preferred.2+ years in forge shop related experience is preferredAbility to work effectively in a fast-paced team atmosphere. Ability to manage multiple and complex tasks simultaneously.Strong interpersonal and communication skills, ability to interact effectively with cross-functional teams.Possess good problem-solving skills for supporting all aspects of the engineering infrastructure.Intermediate to Advanced skill level in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access. Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. The role entails various key responsibilities, including:
Lead a team of engineers in an aerospace material, manufacturing-based organization in the fulfillment of titanium mill products.Lead problem solving efforts to reduce rework and product non-conformancesIdentify and lead opportunities to increase product yield from melt through finish productsProvide commercial support for material master creation and new order confirmation/reviewNew customer specification review and approvalSupport the production release of new ingot and product applicationsProvide disposition for non-conforming products Provide shop floor technical support Provide technical support to all outside OSP vendorsSupport the development of business cases for capital investmentsComplete new equipment and process qualificationsPerform and maintain PFMEAs, control and reactions planLead the efforts in developing more robust manufacturing processes.Identify and support measurement systems improvements and process automation Assist with professional development of the engineering staff
