Engineering Manager

Our client, a leader in custom steel fabrication, design and installation services for material handling and processing systems has immediate openings for an experienced Engineering Manager to join their team! This position is based in Sandy, Oregon and we are looking for individuals who want to learn and grow within this team!

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

Use AutoCAD and SolidWorks to design & review mechanical drawings for pre-existing & custom industrial steel and metal components. Experience designing / modifying conveyor systems, duct work, HVAC  & insulation, catwalks, staircases, cyclones, and pneumatic systems.  Overseeing a team of 4-5 Drafter and Designers & reviewing projects to ensure a quick turnaround from drafting to fabrication Manage the entire design process and ensure projects move quickly and efficiently from conception to production, while also guiding and mentoring the team along the way Communicate directly with customers to understand their requirements, provide technical advice, and resolve any design or fabrication issues  Work closely with production and engineering, to ensure all teams are aligned and projects progress in a timely manner

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE:

A minimum of 3-5 years experience in custom metal fabrication shops and overseeing drafting teams of 3-5 people Proven ability to lead and manage a team, with experience in delegating tasks, overseeing project timelines, and ensuring quality standards Proficiency with MS Office suite, AutoCAD and Solid works  Well-versed in blueprint and technical drawing reviews Ability to troubleshoot and provide solutions on the fly, especially when working with complex mechanical system designs and custom components for machinery Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively liaise with customers, internal teams, and suppliers Experienced with fast turnarounds and managing quick-turn projects while often shifting from one project to another to meet tight deadlines.
