ENGINEERING MANAGER
ROCHESTER HILLS, MI

 

As a member of the Leadership team, the Engineering Manager will be responsible for overseeing the engineering aspects, project management, process improvement, and safety compliance of a manufacturing plant.

 

The Role:

Your work will include, but not be limited to:

Manage and coordinate all engineering activities within the plant, ensuring that production processes run smoothly and efficiently. Lead engineering projects, including the design, development, and implementation of new manufacturing processes and technologies. Supervise and mentor a team of engineers and technicians, providing guidance and support to ensure high performance and professional growth. Implement and maintain quality control systems to ensure that products meet industry standards and customer specifications. Identify areas for improvement in manufacturing processes and implement strategies to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve product quality. Ensure that all engineering activities comply with safety regulations and standards, promoting a safe working environment. Develop and manage the engineering department’s budget, ensuring that projects are completed within financial constraints. Work closely with other departments, such as production, procurement, and quality assurance, to coordinate efforts and achieve plant objectives.

Your Qualifications:

A bachelor’s degree in engineering (mechanical, electrical, industrial, or a related field). Injection molding and/or plastic extrusion experience. Significant experience in a manufacturing or automotive environment, often 10+ years, with a proven track record in engineering management. Proficiency in engineering software, knowledge of manufacturing processes, and familiarity with industry standards and regulations. Strong leadership and team management abilities, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to identify and resolve complex engineering and production issues effectively. Experience in managing large-scale projects, from conception through to completion.
