Your role and responsibilitiesManagement of four to six Project Engineers. Design authority for an engineering discipline with low to high complexity. Complete assignments on small to large-scale projects, cost-effectively and in accordance with contract specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements.《Main responsibilities》1.\tTeam management- Effectively lead and support a team of 4-6 engineers.- Support and foster the growth of team members.- Manage international teams and work in a multicultural environment.- Negotiate and coordinate with domestic/overseas suppliers and customers.- Facilitates best practice sharing within the engineering team.- Ensures (with HR support) that the area of responsibility is properly organized, staffed, skilled, and directed. Guides, motivates, coaches, and develops direct and indirect subordinates within HR policies.2.\tProject execution- Defines and ensures implementation of operating guidelines for team.- Oversees progress within own area of responsibility, identifies and manages technical issues.- Drives team performance to ensure that deliverables are met on time, as per the set contract, safety, and quality requirements.- Conducts regular progress reviews, identifies and manages contractual risks.- Ensures delivery of technical solutions according to customer requirements.- Drives development of processes/practices based on customer feedback.3.\tPlanning and Control- Ensures that the engineering team is adequately resourced, developed, and equipped to meet business needs.- Ensures correct assignments of tasks within the engineering team, defines relevant performance metrics.- Creates work plans and cost estimates for engineering work.- Ensures completion of risk assessments and opportunity assessments (e.g., variation orders and claims) and implementation of resulting actions across projects.4.\tRiskIdentifies potential risks in the contract in terms of engineering, technical and cost, and in any relates contract agreements across customers/channels. Provides information and/or participates in the Risk Review process in accordance with ABB policy.5.\tCustomer relationsEstablishes and maintains effective customer relationships to understand customer needs. Ensures a positive customer experience throughout the sales process. Provides any necessary technical support to Project Managers and/or stakeholders during technical meeting with customers.6.\tSupplier selection and Pre-sales support- Identifies potential vendors for equipment and materials required in the project and technically evaluates supplier offers to check match with specifications. Collaborates with Supply Chain Management to coordinate requests to subcontractors.- Provides engineering support during the bid phase, ensures that the resources required to deliver the technical solutions are correctly accounted (e.g., the requirements for safety, technical competence, quality, schedule, and cost).
Qualifications for the roleBachelor degree or above Electrical Engineering. More than 10 years experience in electrical engineering and more than 3 years team/people management experience, familiar with Medium/Low voltage Switchgear. Transformer, eHouse, SCADA experience will be plus. Fluent in Japanese and conversational English. Active personality. A collaborative, solution-focused approach, with strong written and spoken communication skills. Ability to work in a multinational environment and in a matrix organization Flexibility in travelling within the specified area/country Strong knowledge of electrical products and solutions
