Position Summary:
The Engineering Manager – Applications Engineering will be responsible for technical support and leadership of a team processing Engineered proposals, responding to customer technical questions and supporting sales & marketing activities for Regal Rexnord Automation Solutions business. This leader will lead a team of five direct reports and eleven indirect reports to design and define complex automation solutions to meet or Customers conveying needs. This leader will be responsible for maintenance of quotation tools, processes and leading efforts to continuously improve and exceed our Customer’s expectations.
Major Responsibilities:
Leads Application Engineering team to deliver on-time, complex proposals for Customer conveyance needs
Interacts with Sales and Customers to translate customer specifications into automation solutions utilizing conveyance standards
Resolves challenges related to interpretation of drawings, design, material and performance of conveyances solutions, summarizing results and documenting conclusions
Manage and update opportunity trackers and resource plan for team supporting Sales and Account Management
Represent Application Engineering at Project review and Customer kickoff meetings
Work with Engineering Management peers to develop standards in team’s approach to developing systems and proposals
Participate in TRM/MPR process to ensure consistent transfer of projects through process
Work with cross functional teams to monitor changes in key inputs of quotation tools to maintain accuracy in developing proposals
Mentor and support team of direct reports in Applications Engineering department
Work with team to develop and advance Individual Development Plans for themselves and their direct reports
Define, manage and report out on department KPIs key for supporting policy deployment
Support Strategic Account Managers to define standardized specifications for key customers
Represent ASBU on Corporate and Customer visits as Applications subject matter expert.
Work with broader Regal Rexnord divisions to increase content of components within offerings
Frequent engagement and communication with Operations, Product Management, Project Management, NPD, SPD, Finance, HR, Purchasing
Required Education / Experience / Skills:
Degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or equivalent from accredited university required
Advanced degree preferred
7+ years of experience with Automation layout, application support and quoting experience a plus
Handle multiple projects simultaneously
Understanding of Engineered conveying systems, facility layouts
Entrepreneurial mindset willing to challenge traditional methods
Comfortable leading team of technical experts with diverse backgrounds in a fast-paced environment and able to effectively problem solve, prioritize and execute tasks with a sense of urgency
Fluent in AutoCAD and related modules
Familiar with Microsoft suite of software
Strong written and oral communication skills
Travel: Up to 25%
Language: English
Hybrid Work Mode: Oshkosh or Randolph, WI with potential travel between locations.
