Engineering Manager - DIRECT HIRE/PERMANENT!
Manpower Engineering is closely partnering with an industry leading, established and growing company in Milwaukee, WI on a highly visible and direct hire/permanent Engineering Manager position that’s available due to the current person retiring. The company manufactures concrete batching equipment and related bulk material handling equipment. Also, this is a technical leadership position. Lastly, the current Engineering Manager is willing to serve as a direct mentor and supervisor through the transition. The company offers a very strong compensation plan, top-notch full benefits package (health, dental, vision, and 401(k) match), relocation assistance, great work/life balance, and the opportunity to make a visible impact and be part of a company that has an outstanding culture. **JOB DESCRIPTION** This position is responsible for workflow distribution, quality control, providing accurate estimates of project completing dates as well as conceptual layout and design associated with our equipment. You can expect to work on many projects at the same time, manage the in-house engineering team of five as well as with various outsourced diverse teams of engineering professionals. You’re expected to formulate and execute strategies to continue the design and development of the standard line of equipment as well as provide the customization required by some customers. To succeed in this role, you’ll need exceptional foresight, excellent communication and planning skills, a working knowledge of different engineering and manufacturing disciplines and how they relate to one another and have excellent knowledge of both plate and structural steel. **Responsibilities:** + Propose and manage budgets for projects. + Supervise the work of in-house personnel. + Planning and executing strategies for completing projects on time. + Researching and developing designs and products. + Determining the need for training and talent development. + Hiring and managing third party vendors as necessary. + Provide clear and concise instructions to engineering teams. + Administer the engineering document management system provided by SolidWorks. + Ensure engineering personnel are properly using the ERP system provided by Infor/Syteline. **Qualifications:** + Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. + 5+ years of experience. + Experience with 3D design. Experience with SolidWorks is a plus. + Experience in a metal fabrication or bulk material handling environment is each a plus. + Open to a technical leadership position. Experience with direct reports is a plus. + Excellent computer skills and ability to adapt to using PDM and ERP software as well as excel, word and various other software packages. + Excellent written and verbal communication skills . + Dedication to quality. + Attention to detail. + Ability to find solutions in challenging or difficult situations.
