The last few years have seen a significant increase in the importance of digital solutions in the Commerce area at Heineken. These IT solutions have become a vital component in supporting the company's revenue. To ensure that this trend is supported and the IT in this area continues to grow, the new Commerce DevOps Hub is being established. The newly created organization, being an integral part of the Global Digital & Technology Function, is tasked with maintaining, but most importantly developing (functionally and technologically) IT solutions supporting the Commerce area at Heineken. Commerce DevOps Hub is located in Kraków and will include highly qualified IT professionals with direct contribution to both the technological development of the Heineken Commerce and the Hub itself.
As the Engineering Manager, your role is to oversee a team, developing in-house products, guiding technical strategy and ensuring alignment with business objectives. You champion Agile methodologies like Scrum, collaborate closely with other DevOps teams for efficient development pipelines. You drive excellence in software engineering practices to deliver high-quality solutions throughout the software development lifecycle in our Commerce landscape. You will work directly with the Product Owner(s) and Product Architect(s), understanding the business needs and helping Product Architect(s) to convert those needs into solution architecture specifications and services in line with overall engineering standards and roadmaps.
This role has as focus area our Distributor technology, where you will 1) have the opportunity to get to a solid understanding of our route-to-market models and specifics in the different countries where we operate and 2) work together with our OpCos and their Distributors on those route-to-markets to support them and their customers in the best way digitally. A true digital partnership role to pioneer and lead.
The role reports directly to the Senior Technology Manager.
Your responsibilities would include:
owning the Software Development Engineering (SDE) organization that is delivering eazle, our new global digital platform leading a team of experienced SDE Leads, and their SDEs in designing, developing, and delivering scalable, reliable, and high performing software solutions hiring, onboarding, mentoring, and developing top engineering talent, fostering a culture of learning, collaboration, and continuous improvement driving operational excellence, including code reviews, design reviews, testing, and deployment processes, to ensure high-quality software delivery elevating the Engineering build / ship mindset in HEINEKEN as frontrunner overseeing team spirit, performance and be responsible for key hiring decisions implementing good practices, coding standards and modern architecture for DevSecOps ensuring the execution of DevSecOps is in place across all teams within a domain and aligned inspiring, advising, and driving the selection of development approach for specific product coordinating software development and address technical debt overseeing code review and state-of-art quality of the stack forming a view on GenAI application in our SDE practice managing team budgets, incl. outsourcing partners organizing and / or participating in hackathons!
You will work daily - in strong distributed and async manner - with:
