The Demand Experiences team's mission is to help consumers enjoy maximum value through engaging and relevant offers, while driving sustainable growth for merchant partners, Grab, and multiple business products. We engineer platforms used by all business verticals in Grab to use our vast reward and promo capabilities. Our products are enjoyed by millions of consumers and our systems are among the most used in Grab, being involved in every transaction made. Our team members are in Indonesia and Singapore.

Get to Know the Role 

We are looking for an experienced Engineering Manager II to join our engineering team in Jakarta, Indonesia. You will lead a team of engineers while driving innovation in our demand solution. You will report to the Head of Engineering, and work on-site in our Jakarta office.

The Critical Tasks You Will Perform

Oversee the development of Demand team's services to enhance availability, scalability, latency, and efficiencyLead and foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the engineering teamCollaborate with cross-functional teams to align engineering efforts with organizational objectivesManage project timelines, budgets, and resources while implementing best practices in software developmentConduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to team membersDesign, build, and analyze large-scale systems, collaborating with the infrastructure team for scaling and root cause analysisStay updated on industry trends, participate in strategic planning, and ensure compliance with regulations and company policies.

Qualifications

What Essential Skills You Will Need

Min. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; MBA or Master's degree would be an added value.Solid foundation in computer science, with expertise in algorithms, data structures, and software engineering principles.Min. 7 years of professional experience in software engineering, with hands-on coding skills and an understanding of scalable architectures, microservices, and mobile technology.Experienced in using Golang with Redis, MySQL, DynamoDB, and Elasticsearch data stores.We use GitLab for our code repository and we follow the basic Continuous Delivery tenets using a host of tools to support our release pipeline and code quality. These include GitLab CI, DataDog, Kibana.
