As the Engineering Manager II you will oversee a group of software engineers dedicated to enhancing Redis's core functionality, expanding its modules, improving reliability, scalability, and performance, and creating abstraction layers to streamline communication and management of Redis clusters. In this role, you will collaborate closely with teams based in California and Seattle to align on roadmaps, achieve business objectives, and establish clear career development paths for team members. Proven experience as a Software Engineering Manager, leading high-performing teams in designing, building, and delivering critical data solutions at scale. 2. Extensive experience managing and mentoring engineers, fostering a collaborative and inclusive team culture. 3. Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to align diverse stakeholders and drive adoption of data solutions. 4. Demonstrated ability to work with product management and business partners to define vision, roadmap, and delivery priorities for analytics, reporting, and data platforms. 5. Deep technical expertise in distributed data systems, including ETL, logging, storage, data quality, and monitoring. 6. Proven track record of delivering high-quality data products on time and within scope, while driving engineering best practices across the team. 7. Passionate about coaching and developing engineers, creating an environment that fosters learning, accountability, and innovation. 8. Build and maintain large distributed cache sysem and build hands on core module development ---- Preferred Qualifications ---- 1. Hands-on development experience with Redis/Valkey/MemCache core modules, or libraries, and a background in contributing to open-source projects is highly desirable. 2. Proven expertise in building or managing large-scale, high-traffic caching systems with extreme reliability and scalability needs. 3. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft detailed technical documentation. 4. Experience leading large projects or managing teams of three or more engineers. For Sunnyvale, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$257,000 per year - USD$285,500 per year. You will be eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program, and may be offered an equity award & other types of comp. You will also be eligible for various benefits.
