As an R&D team, making sure your ideas are heard and encouraged is what we strive to do!What You'll Do:Criteo is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead a group of 5+ teams as part of the Criteo R&D Platform department.
At Criteo, our engineering teams (900+ developers) are supported by a set of technical services and tools provided by the Platform Engineering teams. It includes CI/CD, Observability, distributed databases and frameworks up to front-end components and SaaS development kits, sitting over Criteo’s high-scale container platform and infrastructure of 45k+ bare metal servers, in addition to some public cloud workloads.
You will work closely with R&D leadership and many engineering teams, directly reporting to the R&D Platform VP Engineering. You will have the opportunity to continuously learn new leadership skills and share your expertise.
You’ll have a huge impact on Criteo’s products and services. Additionally, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the productivity of our R&D organization while managing a growing number of clients, enabling us to scale our business effectively.
Your missions:
Own a given scope, build a technical vision and strategy aligned with Criteo and R&D Platform goals
Build roadmaps, take decisions, delegate when necessary and prioritize on your scope
Build teams, recruit, motivate and mentor world class engineering talent
Manage managers and indirectly a group of ~40 engineers
Help define and implement best practices and standards across your teams and R&D
Help align with internal and external stakeholders (including vendors), adapt your communication to your audience
Contribute and promote R&D culture and values
Who You Are:Formal education in Computer Science/Software Engineering or a related field
A rock-solid foundation in Computer Science (data structures, algorithms, software/system design)
5+ years of hands-on software development experience
At least 4 years of experience managing (directly or indirectly) teams, note that this role is also open to more experienced managers (Senior and Director)
Excellent understanding of software development methodologies and tools
Experience taking direct ownership and acting as a senior technical lead (e.g. to bootstrap new projects)
Experience in developing and extending complex systems across multiple release cycles
Technical prowess particularly earning credibility and respect of current engineering
