As an Engineering Manager, you'll play a key role in our innovative team dedicated to creating exceptional experiences for our global customers.   

From powering platforms like NBCUniversal’s Peacock in the United States to Sky’s NOW, SkyShowtime across Europe, and now Showmax in over 40 countries in Africa, one thing’s for certain, your contributions will impact millions of viewers worldwide. 

What You'll Do:  

Lead and mentor a squad of 5–8 talented software engineers, fostering a culture of psychological safety and growth. 

Implement DevOps best practices, ensuring efficient CI/CD pipelines, automation, and rapid software delivery. 

Introduce and maintain observability and monitoring tools to enhance system performance and reliability. 

Optimize cloud spending to improve efficiency and maximize ROI on infrastructure investments. 

Develop global content delivery strategies, leveraging CDNs to enhance performance, security, and scalability. 

Support your team in achieving both personal and professional growth through mentorship and career development initiatives. 

Define and track quarterly OKRs, aligning team efforts with business objectives. 

Organize and prioritize team goals effectively to ensure impactful execution. 

Provide hands-on technical support when necessary to unblock challenges and guide development. 

Communicate and collaborate with key stakeholders, including product managers, executives, and cross-functional teams. 

Champion best practices in software development and technology, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement 

What You'll Bring:  

Previous experience managing software engineering teams (mandatory) 

An agile and dynamic approach to delivery 

Good knowledge of AWS, GCP, or Azure; Terraform, Kubernetes, Docker, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).  

Knowledge of Jenkins, GitHub Actions, ArgoCD, or similar tools.  

Experience with Akamai, Cloudflare, Fastly, or AWS CloudFront.  

Familiarity with Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, or similar tools.  

Ability to mentor engineers, align infrastructure with business goals, and drive operational excellence.  

Proven experience managing and operating production environments at scale, ensuring reliability, uptime, and performance. 

Great communication and management skills 

Previous experience as a software engineer developing with Java, Kotlin or NodeJS, JavaScript among others 

Previous experience of modern Architecture, Frameworks & Design Patterns 

Relentless focus on our customer’s experience and application performance 

Ability to work well in a team, self-driven, and eager to learn 

Creative thinking, analytical skills with attention to detail 

Fluent in English
