We are looking for an engineering manager to manage a team that works on core components of Private Cloud Compute (PCC), which powers advanced features of Apple Intelligence. PCC is a groundbreaking cloud intelligence system designed specifically for private AI processing. For the first time ever, PCC extends the industry-leading security and privacy of Apple devices into the cloud, making sure that personal user data sent to PCC isn’t accessible to anyone other than the user — not even to Apple. Built with custom Apple silicon and a hardened operating system designed for privacy, we believe PCC is the most advanced security architecture ever deployed for cloud AI compute at scale. DescriptionDescriptionThis team is responsible for building components that run on the Apple Silicon nodes that provide key parts of the transport encryption and request handling that are the basis of the verifiable transparency requirement of PCC. We work with partners in security and Apple’s operating system teams to design and build secure software that must run reliably with no manual intervention. Much of our software is written in Swift. The team is split between London and Cupertino. You should be deeply motivated, driven, and should feel a personal stake in the services we are responsible for. You have the ability to juggle multiple priorities and handle uncertainty. You should have excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with the people you work with. You should be prepared to deliver high quality results, and your success will be measured by the quality, size and timeliness of the work you're doing.
