Grid Solutions delivers reactive power compensators such as Static Synchronous Compensators (STATCOM) and Static Var Compensators (SVC), on which we are the global Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Finland. These systems are used to control power system voltage and reactive power flow as well as to improve the power system stability and transmission system efficiency. Key tasks:
In this position, you will have a possibility to become an expert in people and engineering management of grid integration of high power (> 100MVAr) reactive power compensators namely STATCOM (static synchronous compensator) and SVC (static var compensator). Your main task is people and team leadership, and together with your team you will be accountable for successful System Design delivery according to highly demanding customer specifications. You get to see the full engineering workflow from Tender evaluations and bid preparation, to projects’ detail design, and finally commissioning of the compensator at the actual site.
