Our Engineering Modern Apprenticehip 

Over four years, you’ll follow an apprentice programme linked to Glasgow City College, leading to the attainment of an HNC in Systems Engineering and an SVQ Level 3 in Engineering Operations. 

  

What you’ll do: 

As an Aggreko Engineering Apprentice, you’ll play a key role in our operations, working on exciting projects and gaining hands-on experience that will shape your future career. Here’s what you’ll be doing: 

Rotate Across Engineering Functions: Gain experience in planning, assembling, servicing, and maintaining equipment such as power generators, fluid chillers, air conditioning units, heaters, and boilers. 

 

Build Technical Expertise: Work with experienced engineers to develop skills in both the mechanical and electrical aspects of power generation equipment, ensuring they operate efficiently and effectively. 

 

Collaborating with experienced engineers and technicians on both mechanical and electrical aspects of power generation equipment, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency.

Location: You’ll be based at our Lomondgate facility (G82 3RG) with day release to City College, Glasgow

What’s Next After Your Apprenticeship?  

Upon completing your apprenticeship, you’ll have the opportunity to work at our Lomondgate facility or explore roles at one of our other national or international locations. 

 

What we’re looking for:  

You’ll need at least four National 5s at grade C or above, including English, Maths and one other STEM subject.  Curiosity and a desire to learn and develop technical and professional skills A positive working attitude, including reliability, responsibility, and a professional approach to tasks Good communication and teamwork skills Problem-solving and analytical skills
