What we need
We are looking for a dynamic Engineering Project Manager to join the R&D Project Management team. Your job will be focused on the development, testing, and pilot deployment of advanced automation solutions. You will manage projects from concept to delivery, ensuring the seamless integration into Symbotic systems. Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, you will transform innovative ideas into practical, high-impact solutions.

The R&D Project Management team is part of the Hardware R&D organization and is dedicated to achieving excellence through collaboration, innovation, and customer-centric practices. We empower teams to deliver value, ensuring projects are completed on time and within scope. As solution-driven professionals, we proactively address any issues that arise during the project lifecycle.
What you’ll do
Create, manage, and lead the execution of the technological roadmap, aligning with our strategic goals to prioritize projects that are innovative, feasible, and impactful. Oversee the full lifecycle of prototype development and implementation, from initial planning and design through to implementation, monitoring, and closure, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to high standards. Coordinate activities of cross-functional teams to meet project milestones, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence. Serve as the primary liaison with stakeholders, including senior leadership, customer success, and external partners, providing regular updates on project progress, risks, and opportunities. Perform risk assessments to identify potential project obstacles and devise mitigation strategies to ensure project success. Coordinate with R&D team and Supply chain vendors to arrange for the purchase of prototype equipment, materials, or parts. Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements across all projects. Conduct detailed post-project reviews to gather learnings and incorporate these into future projects, continually improving our project management processes. Up to 20% of travel may be required.What you’ll need
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Robotics, Project Management, or related field. Minimum 5 years proven project management experience in an R&D environment, ideally within warehouse robotics or a similar high-tech industry. Strong technical proficiency, with an ability to understand complex robotic systems and concepts. Demonstrated project management skills, with a history of successfully leading projects to completion. Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities. Knowledge of MS Project, Atlassian Jira, project management software and tools.Our Environment
Up to 20% of travel may be required. Employees must have a valid driver’s license and the ability to drive and/or fly to client and other customer locations. The employee is responsible for owning a credit card and managing expenses personally to be reimbursed on a bi-weekly basis.#LI-EJ1
