Wildan Lighting & Electric, a division of Willdan Group Inc., is seeking an Engineering Project Manager. In this position you will play a crucial role in supporting the implementation of the Utility Energy Efficiency Program within our organization, be the subject matter expert on Heating, Ventilation, and Cooling (HVAC) technology, and leading junior level engineers. This role oversees program staff, contractors, inspectors and supports Con Edison to develop energy efficiency projects targeting Small Businesses & Nonprofit customers in the greater New York City metropolitan area.
The Engineering Project Manager will assist in designing, planning, and executing initiatives aimed at reducing energy consumption, optimizing resources, and promoting sustainable practices. Your responsibilities will include project coordination, stakeholder engagement, oversight of the engineering team, and providing guidance on the contractor level.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Assist in the development and implementation of energy efficiency programs, including but not limited to initiatives related to buildings, appliances, transportation, and industrial processes. Collaborate with the Program Manager to establish program goals, timelines, and budgets. Act as a key liaison between the engineering team and other departments, promoting effective communication and collaboration.Coordinate with internal teams, external vendors, and stakeholders to ensure smooth program execution. Manage project timelines, forecasting, and resources efficiently to deliver high quality results.Identify areas for improvement and recommend strategies to enhance program efficiency and effectiveness. Develop and implement metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate the effectiveness and impact of energy efficiency programs. Conduct regular audits and assessments to ensure program compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards. Collect, analyze, and interpret data related to energy consumption, savings, and program performance. Prepare reports, presentations, and dashboards to communicate program outcomes and progress to management, stakeholders, and the utility.Foster positive relationships with key stakeholders, including state agencies, utility providers, industry partners, and community organizations.Represent the organization at meetings, conferences, and industry events related to energy efficiency initiatives.Conduct research to identify emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in energy efficiency.Provide guidance and support to program staff, interns, and all involved in energy efficiency initiatives. Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment that encourages innovation, creativity, and continuous learning. Facilitate training sessions and workshops to enhance the skills and knowledge of program team members.Directly and indirectly manage program staff.Job Requirements / Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or related field), Master's degree preferred. 5+ years of experience in energy efficiency, sustainability, or related field, with a proven track record of project management and program implementation.Knowledgeable about the New York State (NYS) Clean Heat offerings, New York City (NYC) Local Law 87 & 97, and other HVAC rebate opportunities in the state. Strong analytical skills, with the ability to collect, analyze, and interpret data to drive decision making and program optimization.Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively communicate complex concepts to diverse audiences.Demonstrated experience in stakeholder engagement, relationship management, and collaboration with cross-functional teams. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, data analysis tools, and project management software.Knowledge of energy efficiency regulations, policies, and standards at the local, state, and federal levels.
