We are actively hiring an Engineering Project Manager for an Electrical Utilities team in Indianapolis, IN! This team primarily focuses on Electrical Distribution Design and Engineering, and has been winning a consistent amount of work from a local utility in Central Indiana that is investing in their Grid updates. This person will be working with a team of Distribution Engineers and Designers to facilitate effective project execution. This is a laid-back and team-oriented environment, with a hybrid setup to allow for in-person connectivity and flexibility. This is a stable, long-term opportunity as the team continues to grow.
ResponsibilitiesLead cross-functional teams to execute Distribution projects from inception through design/engineering completion.Manage projects for schedule adherence, identifying risks and requirements to achieve project in-service dates.Navigate projects through client gate approval processes, including presentations to senior and executive management.Manage projects for financial adherence, maintaining accurate cost forecasts reflecting committed and uncommitted costs.Provide regular status updates on projects by maintaining project data and routine reporting.Lead project meetings with cost, schedule, real estate, environmental, construction, and engineering resources.Essential SkillsPrevious Experience supporting Duke Energy projects (can be from IN, OH, KY, NC, or FL)Previous Experience in leading a team of Engineers and/or DesignersPrevious Experience in Maximo, Bentley Open Utility Designer software, and/or Pole ForemanEffective Organization and Communication to manage client workload, status updates, and invoicingStrong Interpersonal Communication and Analytical Skills to manage both internal team and external client needsMust be willing to work at least part-time in-office in Indianapolis, INPrevious Experience on Joint Use projects is preferred but not requiredWork EnvironmentThe work culture is small office, close-knit, and quiet. The dress code is casual, but you may need a change of clothes for field visits. You may also be customer-facing at times. The hours are 1st shift, Monday to Friday, with flexible time, but generally from 8 AM to 5 PM. This is a multidisciplinary engineering firm that offers opportunity in multiple industries, but the power delivery team is continuing to grow with an influx of local project needs. The client has committed $1.2 billion in the next 10 years to reinvest in the local grid and infrastructure, and this person will play a key role in getting that workload done. Pay may be negotiation depending on experience.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $50.00 - $60.00/hr.
