Job Responsibilities

Lead a high-performing technical team by building relationships, deploying PM tools and experience, and through personal exampleDevelop the team members, processes, and environment to achieve desired resultsEmbrace a Kaizen (continuous improvement) approach to both programs and the organizationEmbrace and implement the Lumentum Product Development ProcessCreate executable development plans/schedules based on team inputs;  proactively address risks, resource gaps, and emergent issues to keep programs on track despite inevitable problemsDevelop and track project budgets and resources in cooperation with the larger teamMonitor and adjust resource deployment as necessary with the functional team managersCommunicate program status to technical stakeholders, Commercial Lasers leadership, Lumentum senior management, and customers

Requirements

B.S. in an engineering field plus 10+ years of experience in managing complex product developmentTechnical expertise in systems, electrical, optical and/or mechanical engineering.Experience with Semiconductors, Lasers, or other Hardware engineering and product transfer from R&D to manufacturingExcellent communication skills in verbal, written, and presentation formatsHigh level of integrity, work ethic, responsiveness, and commitment to continuous improvementAbility to travel as required/possible to coordinate projects and build relationships with the larger international development teamsPMP certification and/or six sigma black belt certification is a plus
