Engineering Project Records Specialist (term for a period up to 2 years)

The engineering project records specialist is responsible for developing, preparing and implementing Engineering process improvement projects. Responsible for leading and coordinating the implementation and maintenance of Project Deliverables Process. This includes reviewing reports, Issued for Construction Drawings, Record Drawings & Survey drawings. This role is also responsible for contributing to the change management process to ensure adoption of the project deliverables process. It is also responsible for performing a variety of activities related to planning, construction and maintenance of VFPA infrastructure. Performs site surveys and measurements, as required. **What you do:** + Develop and update project processes,templates and tools and training materials, related to VFPA AssetManagement/Spatial Data Group. + Establish and maintain relationshipswith project leads & consultants to foster support for the ProjectDeliverables Process to ensure adoption of the processes and contribute to thechange management effort + Provide advice on project processesand coordination, including trouble shooting any issues + Identify opportunities forimprovement and implement approved changes + Responsible for coordinating andcollaborating with PER team members in determining compliance and regularlycommunicating with VFPA staff and project consultants in assessing compliancewith the Project Deliverables Process. + Provides information for periodicproject status reports through various internal VFPA tracking systems. RecordsManagement + Track and record all ProjectDeliverables. + Ensures use of VFPA Record DrawingStandards & Templates and verifies that the project deliverables haverequired information and criteria. + Monitor and track infrastructure dataupdates. + Maintains the Engineering departmentdrawing index (EDDI), entering new plans into the drawing index and providetraining to new employees using EDDI. Engineering Project Support + Develop and maintain VFPA drawingstandards and procedures. + Carries out historical recordsresearch for the preparation of detailed base plans for port projects andproperties. + Provides infrastructure data anddrawings to consultants and project managers for all Port-related designprojects + Create and issue drawing projectnumbers for all VFPA projects + Prepare and review requests forproposals and participate in the selection of consultants. Prepare costestimates and submissions. Review and evaluate reports and repair schemes toensure asset management objectives are met.
