MAU is hiring an Engineering Leader at Milliken in LaGrange, GA. As an Engineering Leader, you will oversee and guide a team of 6 Controls Technicians at the Milliken facility. This role involves a strong focus on electrical engineering, controls systems, and automation, ensuring the efficient and reliable operation of plant equipment. You will report to the Engineering Services Department Manager. This is a direct-hire opportunity.

Required Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field; OR
5+ years of engineering services experience with a focus on electrical and control systems
Proven experience in leading a technical team, particularly in a manufacturing or industrial environment

Essential Functions
Lead the troubleshooting and resolution of electrical and control system issues to minimize downtime and maintain operational efficiency
Supervise and provide technical guidance to a team of 6 Controls Technicians, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment
Participate in major equipment overhauls, plant safety projects, and infrastructure initiatives with a focus on electrical and control systems
Engage with, advise, and develop the technical skills of the Controls Technicians, promoting continuous improvement and professional growth
Plan and schedule maintenance activities for control systems to ensure optimal performance and reliability
Review and analyze downtime data, implementing corrective actions to enhance system uptime and performance
Ensure appropriate spare parts inventory for control systems to prevent significant downtime
Track and document performance metrics for Controls Technicians, including safety, quality, productivity, and attendance
Manage labor costs effectively, including non-straight time labor, training pay, and overtime for the Controls Technicians
Ensure that all control systems and related equipment are maintained by competent and properly trained personnel
Oversee the continuous skills development of the Controls Technicians, maintaining accurate training records
Assist with the acquisition, installation, and commissioning of new or existing electrical and control equipment within budget constraints
Implement and maintain contractor safety programs, ensuring compliance with safety standards
Work to reduce utilities costs and maintain control over supply cost centers
Ensure compliance with environmental and regulatory requirements related to control systems and electrical equipment
Collaborate with the Engineering Services Leader to support plant facilities maintenance and repair activities
Perform other tasks as required
