Engineering Specialist, Controls

In this position... 

Coordinate resources to find root cause and fixes, manage and breakdown problems into items that can be validated. Determine proper validation methods.

You'll have... 

High School Diploma or GED 2 or more years of Controls Engineering experience (internship and coop experience will be considered)

Even better, you may have...

Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Controls or Automation EngineeringElectrical background (electrician or technician) preferredFamiliar with PLC/CNC (Siemens/ Allen-Bradley), VFD, Servo, Profinet, and ABB Solid understanding of laser burningDemonstrated ability to read blueprints, modify electrical schematics and use AutoCADValidated ability to troubleshoot equipment and continuously evaluate for process improvementsExperience with conveyor system programming and overhead GantrySolid understanding of networking to include DH+, Ethernet and remote IOLean Manufacturing and Six Sigma experienceLean Tools – 5S, Kanban, Poka-Yoke, Value Stream Mapping experienceUnderstanding of 8D, FMEA, and DMAIC processesFamiliar with TQM and Kaizen methodsOne or more years of experience with MS Office (Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Outlook)Knowledge of simulation modeling and visual factory management preferred

What you'll do...Handle setup and maintenance of industrial bar code printersUtilize sound knowledge design and implement vision control systems. Familiar with different type of vision cameras and their programing software. Continuously evaluate equipment for improvement for quality and deliveryUse FIS plant monitoring software to review cycle times of equipment, review and follow up project installationsReprogram equipment for engineering changes and improvementsUpdate program backups for machinery and automationProgram new installations of automation, machinery, material handling, and robotsAs part of a team, review risk assessments and evaluate equipment safetyAssist in training manufacturing personnel and plant electriciansRead and modify electrical prints and schematics, Auto CADMaintain familiarity with OA, CPN/MPN networks and communication protocols for connecting to wireless and wired networksManage installation and maintenance of virus protection software for controls network PCs, perform PC backup disc images and installation of communication and firmware and controls softwareWork overtime and weekends as needed
