Engineering Specialist - Test (3rd Shift)

In this position... 

You will apply engineering principles & analytical techniques to establish and continuously improve manufacturing test processes and products.

This position is a 3rd shift role which is 3pm to 11:30pm. 

You'll have... 

High School Diploma or GED3 or more years of Engineering experience (internship and coop experience will be considered)

Even better, you may have...

Bachelor's degree in EngineeringExperience with WMAssociates software preferred.Certified 6-Sigma Black Belt2+ years experience in manufacturing testing environment

What you'll do...

Conduct Daily review quality indicators – REDCRS and Sterling Warranty Garage Reports for NE, APR, VO Repair, and FQAs issuesTrack concerns and review initial test results/data from all relevant test equipment.Once suspect unit is returned, record any retest of the transaxle or defect testing data—along with analysis—then assist garage in determining root cause, and document improvement actions to test equipment.Conduct a monthly review of all critical test point variable trend charts. Verify test point trends and current limits. Investigate or notify correct personnel of any unusual trends. Document charts in a binder for future reference.Maintain completed Defect Testing Matrix for all test equipment. The matrix should prioritize actions to address pass-thru items. For product changes, rerun defect testing for all affected components to verify containment.Assist Production and Quality departments in determining the root cause(s) of the top test stand rejects in the Regress areas. Lead reject resolution meetings in addressing test stand top FTT concerns. Provide Regress areas with a comprehensive suggested repair list.Assist Maintenance and Production in troubleshooting and repairing down test equipment. Investigate and implement corrective actions to address top availability issues. (I.E. faults and downtime)Maintain cycle times on test equipment ensuring stands are running at or below authorized cycle time.Support feasibility on product design changes and lead modifications and model code updates as required.  Handle model additions, data base changes, test program and sequence changes; implement modifications of new parameters and limits.Assist technicians with calibration of test stand instrumentation per schedule.Maintain 'Challenge Part' for EFTs and IPTs. The DCP should require part testing daily on all stands. Monitor part test status and assist Production with reaction to a rejected test.Use test stand WMA software to monitor test stand FTT and stand to stand correlation.Devise and maintain a suggested repair and repair tree data base for the operators on the floorDaily provide Engineering Supervisor with Final and Main Control Test FTT reports and status of top rejects prior to production meetingFTT data should be reviewed at the start-up or close-out meeting with the teams dailyKnowledge of NVH principles, data acquisition, balancers, leak and EOL testers.PTA, WMA, Veri-tek NVH machine test software knowledgeMechanical knowledge of axle assembly and gear manufacturing
