The engineering supervisor manages a team of energy engineers who are responsible for reviewing energy calculations and other technical information related to all building types within the commercial and industrial sectors. The supervisor is responsible for ensuring their team has the tools to effectively communicate all technical requirements related to incentive applications. The supervisor will regularly interact with internal and external stakeholders including - customers, sales teams, implementation teams, and evaluation teams - towards our collective goal of accelerating the adoption of energy efficiency in the states Eversource serves. The supervisor also manages the contracts of approximately 30 engineering firms who have been selected for as Mass Save technical assistance vendors. This is a critical role in Eversource’s continued leadership within the energy efficiency industry.
This is a hybrid role.
Essential Functions
Ensures the team is meeting deadlines, and following procedures related to documentation collection and Q&A.Participates in the continued development of new inspections and engineering review guidelines to better serve our customers.Displays a broad range of technical knowledge in energy efficiency and applies knowledge to successfully implement programs/initiatives/strategies.Communicates program rules and policies to internal and external stakeholders. This may involve balancing several opposing viewpoints in a fair and consistent manner. Coordinates with product development, energy consulting, sales, marketing, and planning teams to refine existing customer offerings and seek opportunities to expand and improve them.Provides leadership and guidance to program teams. Trains internal and external market actors on energy efficiency technical strategies, processes, and techniques.Executes the budgeting, invoicing, evaluation, and tracking of expenses of technical service contractors; and participates in the development of RFP's for contracted services.Responsible for review and approval of complex projects/programs, which require an understanding of extensive engineering analysis/calculations, implementation strategy for new technologies, or energy simulation modeling.Participates in the development and coordination of calculation procedures and tools necessary to meet compliance with regulatory filings and oversight of rate-payer funds for Energy Efficiency programs. Provides draft testimony or testifies as assigned.Represents Eversource in national energy efficiency conferences and/or stakeholder events (e.g. ACEEE, ASHRAE, ACI, CEE, and state/regional R&D groups). Leads the evaluation of new technologies and other research and development activities.Qualifications
Technical Knowledge/Skill:
Proficient in Excel and energy modeling software such as eQuest.Strong understanding of regulatory policies and processes.Demonstrates problem-solving skills and attention-to-detail. Working knowledge of standard office computer software (e.g., Word, PowerPoint, etc.).Education:
Baccalaureate degree in engineeringAdvanced degree in engineering, business, marketing is desirableExperience:
Five (5) plus years of relevant experience in engineering or any related technical role.Experience and/or aptitude in customer service is also required.Licenses & Certifications:
Professional Engineer (PE) or Certified Energy Manager (CEM) is preferred.Compensation and Benefits:
