The Engineering Supervisor reports to the Director of Engineering and will be responsible primarily for general maintenance and repairs in guest room, meeting space, and front of the house areas, as well as back of the house areas including kitchen, laundry, electrical, mechanical, and HVAC systems. The position also will also champion and assist in directing the preventative maintenance routines, upkeep and repairs of equipment and systems, the hotel’s interior and exterior, as well as a critical part of driving our work order scores. In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the other departmental supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the manager based upon the particular requirements of the hotel. Please be advised, we are a large full-service hotel and as such this position requires extended periods on your feet with frequent long walks around the internal and external areas of the hotel along with considerable physical activity on a continuous basis, up to and including entire shift. Qualifications Key Requirements: Minimum (4) years of hands-on experience working on major electrical, painting, plumbing, mechanical, HVAC, refrigeration, housekeeping equipment, kitchen equipment, pumps and motors repairs; Hotel or Hospital environment preferred. Ability to pass a drug screen and background check; Ability to obtain and/or maintain any required licenses, certificates or permits. Good knowledge of mechanical, chilled and condenser water components, boilers, electrical distribution, plumbing and drainage systems. The ability to multi-task large and small projects while working in a high-paced environment. Demonstrate an awareness of the relative urgency of tasks and responds accordingly. Must possess strong organizational and computer skills with a focus in Excel and Microsoft business suite Good communication skills and ability to work well with others in both the Engineering Department as well as other members of the staff and guest. Must be a dedicated and dependable team member, being punctual, follow instructions with ability to work independently. Fluency in the English language; verbal, reading and writing, and can effectively communicate information. Able to move, lift, carry, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 50 lbs on a frequent basis; able to conduct heavier lifting or movement tasks with assistance; able to push, pull without assistance pull up to 200 lbs. Able to extending arms; frequent bending and stooping and standing for long periods. Able to climb ladders up to 30 feet high and reach in all directions, often times overhead. Hearing and visual ability to observe and detect signs of emergency situations. Compensation Range The compensation for this position is $26.00/Hr. - $28.00/Hr. based on qualifications and experience.
