The Battery Manufacturing Engineering team is opening new highways with our next-generation propulsion systems. We're investing over $50 billion to build some of the most technologically advanced EV manufacturing facilities in the U.S. and E.U. to produce the next generation of Ford electric vehicles. You’ll be a key part of the launch team that will help bring the electrification revolution to driveways, job sites, and highways everywhere. BlueOval Battery Park Michigan will produce the lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery cells to power the next-generation Ford EV passenger vehicles and trucks under development. This new wholly owned subsidiary of Ford Motor Company will create more than 1,700 jobs when production begins in 2026. This role will start remote and then will be working hybrid out of Marshall with expectation to be on-site at Marshall once building construction and timing is established (relocation package available).

In this position...

As the Engineering Supervisor, you'll lead a team of engineers in the exciting and critical task of preparing our battery manufacturing facility for new programs. You'll be at the forefront of large-scale installation projects, ensuring they are safe, high-quality, and cost-effective. Your responsibilities will include:

What you'll do...

•    Leadership & Team Management: Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of engineers, setting objectives, conducting performance reviews, and fostering a continuous improvement mindset.
•    Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with various Ford teams (Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Product Development, etc.) to seamlessly integrate new technologies and deliver successful programs.
•    Strategic Implementation: Ensure projects adhere to Ford's strategies, procedures, and guidelines, maintaining consistency and quality across all programs.
•    Problem Solving: Drive the resolution of major program issues, providing technical support and guidance to various organizations.
•    Supplier & Subcontractor Management: Identify, assess, and select qualified suppliers and subcontractors for process-related facilities work and installation.
•    Infrastructure Development: Lead the development of infrastructure for all equipment to support new programs.
•    Safety & Compliance: Ensure all safety requirements are met, including those for contractors and subcontractors.
•    Advanced Technology Integration: Oversee the use of laser scanning and BIM for design verification, constructability, and safety planning.
•    Cost Management: Lead the cost study process for new programs, ensuring proper funding and line-item definition.
•    Coordination & Planning: Coordinate with plant management for relocations, assist with environmental testing, and develop detailed layouts based on production engineering requirements.

In essence, you'll be a key player in building the future of Ford's battery manufacturing capabilities, ensuring projects are executed efficiently, safely, and in alignment with the company's strategic objectives.
 


You'll have…

•    Engineering degree or equivalent experience
•    5 plus years of equipment installation experience
•    Experience working with Contractors and Trades
•    Experience with installation drawings 2D/3D CAD
•    Experience managing equipment installation contractors, including managing cost in major projects
•    Ability to work on-site during installation periods.  First project will be onsite in Marshall, MI starting June of 2025
