A week in the life of an Engineer Support SME you will:

Utilize DoD and USAF engineering principles to enhance weapon system manufacturing, operations, and demilitarization. Translate user needs into system requirements for design and development of systems and equipment. Formulate action plans and policies to maintain advanced manufacturing and operational capabilities. Conduct technical analyses and design feasibility studies, contributing to system concept development. Evaluate proposals, specifications, and Interface Control Documents for compatibility and feasibility. Support lifecycle cost analysis and risk assessment, providing insights into producibility and maintainability. Evaluate test plans and support systems integration throughout the acquisition lifecycle. Analyze alternatives and create strategies for system manufacturing and support to end-of-life. Teach Anti-Tamper courses, develop curriculum, and maintain Security Classification Guides (SCGs). Collaborate with DoD and industry groups to refine and publish SCGs, offering reach back support when needed.
