Who are we looking for? We are looking for enthusiastic potential Engineering Systems specialists to join our Apprenticeship scheme. You should relish problem solving, have a positive ‘can do’ attitude, be enthusiastic to learn new skills and potentially keen to travel. You will need to have achieved 3 A level passes with grade C or above in Mathematics or Physical Science. Alternatively, you could hold a BTEC National Diploma / Certificate – Level 3 in Engineering. Read on…. Which qualification will you study? Our apprentices will attend a local college on day release to complete a Higher National Certificate (HNC) in the chosen qualification. This will form part of a structured learning program to achieve an Advanced Modern Apprenticeship in Engineering Systems. The remaining four days will be spent learning on the job at KBR. KBR will provide extra support if needed for apprentices to complete their college assignments. What would you be doing? Engineering Systems is a challenging role which balances the driving forces from IT with those from the engineering teams. The role covers multiple IT disciplines, from software design and development, server operations, access control and permissions, and application support. However, unlike typical IT roles, Engineering Systems mixes this with a deep understanding of the engineering applications and what the engineering teams are trying to achieve with their use. We combine principles from engineering, systems science, IT, and management to develop innovative solutions for real-world challenges. You would part of the Global KBR Engineering Systems Team, working with colleagues in the UK, US, India and beyond. What’s in it for me? What skills will you learn? + In depth understanding of a vast array of CAD applications and Engineering systems. + A strong understanding of the IT infrastructure required to host complex Engineering systems. + Oversight into what each engineering discipline does and how projects are delivered at KBR. + Become familiar with the KBR WAY engineering standards and procedures as well as provide input to their development and enhancement. + Being part of a team and working towards project goals.
