Engineering Team Leader

The Team Leader for Specials is in charge of completing the 3rd Party Specials and ETO strategy by improving processes, implementing tools, and promoting organizational development. This position involves collaborating effectively across functions, managing people, and focusing on improving speed, quality, and customer happiness.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

Oversee the end-to-end process from quoting to item setup. Implement improvements for handling 3rd party specials and ETOs based on business priorities. Drive the adoption of new tools for specials quoting. Develop strong relationships with key suppliers, product management, supply chain, and factories. Align cross-functionally to optimize cycle times and service levels. Improve item setup processes to enhance efficiency, accountability, and speed. Act as a blocking issue point for urgent special inquiries. Lead productivity and quality improvement initiatives, including automation and process optimization. Manage continuous improvement projects and collaborate with CI teams to implement new solutions. Develop, coach, and motivate team members to foster a high-performance culture. Optimize team workload and prioritize tasks effectively. Ensure compliance with company policies, labor laws, trade regulations, and ethical standards. Safeguard confidential and sensitive information. Uphold environmental, health, and safety standards to maintain a safe workplace.

For This Role, You Will Need:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Engineering; Master’s/MBA preferred. Experience managing customer-related projects and expectations. Strong leadership, interpersonal development, and communication skills. Ability to work in matrix organizations with multiple collaborators and functions. Proven experience leading by influence.

Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:

Minimum one year of experience leading Continuous Improvement projects. Experience implementing interpersonal and process changes across multiple functions. Willingness to learn new technologies and embrace challenges. Ability to build and develop teams in a highly matrixed organization.
