This role in summary

Whirlpool is currently seeking qualified candidates for an Engineering Tech at our Cleveland Manufacturing Plant on our second shift.  In this role you will maintain efficient and safe operations of all equipment and machinery to support plant operations in the manufacture of Whirlpool premium cooking products that meet production and quality standards.

Your responsibilities will include Provide technical assistance to maintenance and operations associates, bringing resolutions to problems by identifying root cause and implementing preventative measures to equipment and systems issuesProvide teaching and coaching to Maintenance Technicians on technical issues and operations associates on process issuesTroubleshoot manufacturing equipment such as PLC controls and associated field devices, servos, robotic systems, hydraulic and pneumatic circuits, HMI's, and assorted industrial machinery controlsPlan and coordinate all aspects of projects, meeting cost and time deadlinesDevelop key documentation of systems, troubleshooting methods and provide technical on-the-job training, and share best practices with Manufacturing Services TechniciansMaintain all work areas in shop and on production floor in a neat and safe mannerLog daily activity and communicate with other technicians and facility staffWork in accordance with WCM initiativeAbility to prioritize work

 

Preferred skills and experiences 1+ year experience using Rockwell PLC software to troubleshoot process equipment, upset situations and to make the changes needed to get the equipment running1+ year experience using Rockwell HMI software to troubleshoot process equipment, upset situations and to make the changes needed to get the equipment running1+ year experience installing and configuring a VFD Drive1+ year experience working knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanical systems, and associated electrical field devicesAbility to work self-directed is requiredCapable of resolving process upset situations and following through to ensure corrective measures are implementedExcellent customer relations skills with the ability to communicate effectively with key internal/external stateholdersDemonstrate Leadership Attributes working as s member of a team and leadhing by exampleEagerness to expand knowledge and skills across multiple disciplinesAbility to work overtime hours to support production requirementsWhy should you apply?
