**Primary Purpose**
**PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION**
The Eng Tech Specialist works under the general supervision of the UAS Supervisor of Operations and spends significant time interfacing with and performing UAS missions throughout BGE Service Territory
This position supports Uncrewed Aerial System (UAS/Drone) operations across BGE and Exelon and will be responsible for:
+ Performing drone operations for planned (programmatic) and ad hoc (emergent/testing) missions on transmission, substation, distribution, and gas systems
+ Develop respective mission plans, pre-mission preparations, UAS maintenance, perform data collection, data processing, and data reporting
+ Work on the integration and testing of UAS equipment/systems, and overall support of UAS projects/programs
+ Applies technical knowledge to help promote a safe work environment and to enhance customer satisfaction.
+ Position may be required to work extended hours for coverage during storms or other energy delivery emergencies.
**Primary Duties**
**PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES**
+ Perform UAS missions to collect data, perform analysis, interpret results, & draw conclusions (as needed) 20%
+ Assist with technical consultation, use case development and recommendations for customer and company systems and processes. 60%
+ Evaluate effectiveness of current BGE UAS systems and processes, and recommend any changes to leadership 10%
+ Assist with Training, develop and update best practices and procedures and take part in community outreach activities 10%

**Minimum Qualifications**
**MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS**
+ Bachelor's degree in a technical field and 2-4 years of relevant experience or 3-6 years of relevant experience in lieu of a technical degree.
+ Ability to analyze and interpret electrical and mechanical systems.
+ Knowledge and ability to apply problem-solving approaches. Knowledge of construction, operations or engineering principles and practices.
+ Good knowledge and experience with regulations, guides, standards, codes, methods, and practices necessary to perform routine assignments for a specific discipline installations, or service.
**Preferred Qualifications**
**PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS**
+ At least 3-6 years of experience as UAS operator with valid FAA UAS Part 107
Operators Certificate
+ Previous e xperience in the Electrical Transmission & Distribution / Utility Industry.
+ Thermography Level 1 Certification
+ Familiarity and experience operating advanced payload systems (LiDAR, Thermal, Multi-spectral, etc…)
+ Proficient in various Microsoft software suite applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Teams)
+ Ability to thrive in both collaborative team settings and independent tasks.
**Benefits**
+ Annual salary will vary based on a candidate's skills, qualifications, experience, and other factors:USD $70,400.00/Yr. - USD $105,600.00/Yr.
