Position Summary:

This position reports to site Engineer and supports the industrial maintenance and engineering teams on the respective shift on the production floor. The engineering technician applies skills learned on job as an industrial maintenance technician role and knowledge learned in engineering / technology degree program to ensure production equipment is kept up and running.

Position Responsibilities:

The Engineering Technician will provide tactical and strategic guidance on the floor and support equipment uptime and maintenance through effective diagnostic trouble shooting and maintenance intervention.Consult regularly with engineering, maintenance and production plant leadership to ensure effective focus of shift maintenance team on safety and production.Ability to use basic pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical controls to repair machinery and/or implement new machineryDemonstrates in-depth understanding of mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems, Digital Electronics, PLC trouble shooting, andApplies knowledge and principles to troubleshooting process and is able to map out and communicate processesUnderstand, comprehend and comply with the Lock Out Tag Out procedures with all equipmentUnderstand, comprehend and comply with all safety programs and policies

Knowledge and Experience:

Verifiable successful work experience as an industrial maintenance technician supporting a high volume, 24 hour manufacturing operationAbility to use computer based diagnostic programs such as PLC viewers, encoder setups, hydraulic systems tuning, etc.Knowledge of various equipment (drills, saws, hand tools, electronics, welder, torch, etc.) and a variety of maintenance equipment.Ability and willingness to successfully complete the 24-hour Haz Mat training refresher course provided by the company and adhere to appropriate procedures.Strong communication and a service mentality as evidenced in providing frequent and actionable updates/status of equipment.Demonstrated ability to be flexible in their work assignments/schedules and supportive to meet changing work demandsEager to learn new processes, systems and equipment and willing to invest resources in their own vocational development.Collaborative – thrives in a fast paced team environment

Education and Certification:

2 Year Associates Degree (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Manufacturing EngineeringExcellent hands-on skills as evidenced by a minimum of 3-5 years as a professional industrial maintenance technician and / or evidence of successful completion of a recognized training program covering multiple skilled manufacturing disciplines.
