The Engineering Technician will be a part of the Daikin Applied Test Center team. This role is key technical resource for the development of commercial HVAC equipment in the Daikin Technology Center Laboratory. The Engineering Technician will work in support of HVAC development programs, technician installs, tests, calibrates, and repairs electromechanical, and electronic measuring.
Engineering Technicians will apply various functions of engineering including: electrical circuits, thermodynamics, data analysis, manufacturing processes, instrumentation and process controls. This can also include supporting aspects of recording and indicating instruments and equipment for conformance to established standards. The ideal candidate enjoys hands-on laboratory work and problem-solving in a team environment.
Work Schedule:
On-site Monday-Friday
Shift: 1st shift hours 6:00am - 2:30pm

Essential Job Duties
Perform laboratory testing activities in accordance with standard procedures, test requirements, and the ISO 17025 standard. Perform scheduled instrument verification checks and periodic facility maintenance. Set up and operate complex laboratory equipment and instruments. Identify and report nonconformities and abnormal testing conditions. Ensure standards, policies, procedures, and maintenance of a clean work area are upheld at all times. Maintain a working knowledge of EH&S safety policies and regulations to ensure duties of self and others are performed in a safe manner. Maintain effective communication with laboratory and project teams. Obtain fork truck training/license, scissor lift training/license, or refrigerant handling certifications. Perform test unit setup according to lab procedures and test request requirements. Create records of testing activities and document them according to laboratory procedures.
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma HVAC certification or direct work experience with HVAC Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form Must have good working knowledge with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) Work visa sponsorship is not available for this position
Preferred Qualifications:
Two-year technical degree in HVAC or related Direct work experience in an R&D Lab Experience with LabView or other PC based data acquisition tools Fork truck training/license, man lift training/license, Universal card, R410a card Experience working on and servicing air and water cooled chillers
