Job Description
As an Engineering Technician, you will be responsible for operating test benches in the R&D engineering lab. Your tasks will include testing, troubleshooting test apparatus, connecting filters to a bench, replacing pumps and seals, starting tests, and documenting results. You will oversee the mechanical upkeep and calibration of these tests, ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of the testing processes.
ResponsibilitiesOperate test benches in the R&D engineering lab.Conduct tests such as structural, integrity, end-of-life, and efficiency tests.Participate in the development of new technology, products, or modifications to existing products.Consult with test requestors and lab managers to determine appropriate testing methods and understand desired outcomes.Set up and conduct performance tests using established standardized formats and procedures.Adapt procedures, processes, tools, equipment, and techniques to meet complex testing requirements with supervision.Prepare accurate test data for interpretation and analysis.Identify and communicate test equipment issues to senior technicians or supervisors.Operate and maintain lab equipment to ensure testing accuracy and efficiency.Assist with equipment calibration and perform basic test bench maintenance under supervision.Keep lab managers informed of testing activities and challenges.Perform operational lab duties as assigned.Meet established deadlines effectively.Maintain a clean and safe work environment.Essential SkillsMechanical testing and mechanical aptitude.Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general computer literacy.Experience with hydraulics and hydraulic assembly.Knowledge of LabVIEW, troubleshooting, and testing.Background in engineering and automotive manufacturing.Understanding of valves, calibration, and maintenance techniques.Strong mechanical and technical aptitude.Ability to understand cause-and-effect relationships within automated control systems.Fundamental understanding of measurement and control systems and calibration practices.Ability to adapt to changing priorities and take direction from supervisors and team members.Effective communication skills for various audiences.Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and completeness in data, reports, and records.Good organizational skills and ability to multitask.Ability to work collaboratively towards common goals.Professional conduct at all times.Additional Skills & QualificationsAssociate's Degree in engineering technology, automotive technology, or a related technical field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Previous experience as a technician or in a related field is preferred.Working knowledge of test equipment and test standards.Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $26.00
