Summary You will serve as an Engineering Technician in the Weapons and Energetics Department of NAVAIRWARCENWPNDIV CHINA LAKE. Responsibilities You will provide knowledge of engineering theory, design characteristics, maintenance requirements, troubleshooting techniques, and peculiarities of unique ordnance processing equipment. You will design, analyze and revise complex plans and specifications in support of technical equipment moves and installations such as energetic processing equipment, research and analysis equipment and scientific equipment. You will document, organize and present completed project packages to customers and management. You will apply critical judgement decisions to overcome operational problems at the senior technician level during emergency repairs and to satisfy overall mission requirements and deadlines. You will enforce compliance with Navy, Federal, state and local safety and environmental regulations. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-05-08) or pay band (DT-02) in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector in order to perform the duties of an Engineering Technician. Specialized experiences must include duties related to the following: (1) Performing, troubleshooting, maintaining, repairing, installing, modifying, and refurbishing various sizes of refrigeration, refrigerated air conditioning, evaporative cooling and gas and steam heating systems; (2) Operating heavy equipment such as tele-handlers, forklifts, man-lifts and stake bed trucks; (3) Operating test equipment such as digital and meter-type multi meters, laptop computer, transistor tester, meggers and special purpose test sets on high and low power applications; and (4) Using and interpreting wiring schematics, equipment manuals, parts lists and system operating instructions to complete work assignments.
