Summary You will serve as a ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN in the PUBLIC WORKS DIVISION of NAVFAC NORTHWEST. Responsibilities You will conduct field surveys and investigations of electricity, gas, water, steam, compressed air, and sewage metering equipment. You will identify meter operational problems, and perform analysis and troubleshooting to diagnose and correct problems. You will perform evaluation and certification of the acceptable installation and operation of new or modified metering equipment for conformance to performance requirements. You will ensure that metered utility consumption is accurately incorporated into the Navy’s specialized utility allotment software (CIRCUITS). You will plan, develop, and provide guidance for maintenance programs for electrical and mechanical utility system metering equipment. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Interpreting and preparing technical drawings for utility control systems and utility metering applications. 2) Installing & reviewing designs, installations, and maintenance of electrical and mechanical metering systems. 3) Calibrating utility metering instrumentation. 4) Performing lock-out/tag-out procedures and safety principles.
