Job Description
Provides technical and administrative support to the NDE engineering team to facilitate the processing and delivery of inspection tools, analysis of NDE data, and tracking of inspector assignments/progress. Coordinates inspection assignments and tracks the progress of inspector results. Requests quotes from vendors, monitors progress to schedule requirements, and verifies requirements are met upon delivery.
ResponsibilitiesPerform technical and inventory activities under the direction of NDE Engineers to support commercial and military engines.Prepare parts for FPI, clean parts post-inspection, package parts, and prepare inspection documentation.Coordinate inspection assignments and track the progress of inspector results.Request quotes from vendors, monitor progress to schedule requirements, and verify requirements are met upon delivery.Essential SkillsAssociate Degree or 2+ years of experience with one or more of the NDE methods such as FPI, EC, or UST.Internship or 6 months plus experience in a manufacturing or lab environment.Proficient in Excel.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Excellent organizational skills.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with training and auditing NDT systems.Experience establishing NDT and general quality systems and NDT methods.Knowledge of aerospace manufacturing operations.Ability to work independently.Proven ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management, internal and external customers.Knowledge and experience with root cause and process control tools.Experience with SAP and Microsoft suite.BSME or BSMET with a 3.0 GPA or higher.Excellent computer skills.Strong references.Desire to be an Applications Engineer in NDE.Work Environment
This position requires working full-time onsite at the East Hartford campus in the newest engineering building lab and office. The group is very dynamic with constantly changing priorities. The work environment is structured and process-driven, offering the opportunity to work on cutting-edge advances in the Aerospace industry and address flight safety problems. There is a chance to go permanent in this role, with excellent benefits available upon conversion.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
