Examples of Duties City of Tigard, Oregon invites applications for an Engineering Technician II in the Engineering Division of the Public Works Department. This position will support Tigard's Engineering Division by providing development related customer service, coordinating engineering workflow, and working with Public Works operations staff to ensure accurate information sharing and to prepare a variety of reports. + Prepares or assists in the preparation of and/or interprets specifications, plans, estimates, and reports pertaining to the construction, maintenance, and operation of a variety of engineering, land development, utility, and other capital improvement projects. + Perform customer service activities related to development and coordinates the inflow and outflow of engineering permitting related documentation. + Performs field, office, and computer-aided studies and prepares periodic and special reports based on findings from research, studies, and surveys; and makes recommendations on findings. + Maintains engineering files, including plans, studies, inspections, surveys, maps, and other data related to engineering projects; prepares, updates, reproduces, and distributes maps, drawings, blueprints, and other information recorded in GIS. + Receiving initial training and then performs plan review and construction inspections. + Assists with capital improvement design and construction projects. The City of Tigard is an Equal Opportunity Employer Minimum Qualifications Education and Experience: Any combination of training and experience, which would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required qualifications would be: + Equivalent to completion of the twelfth (12th) grade supplemented by college-level coursework in civil engineering, drafting, surveying, mathematics, or related field AND two (2) years of paraprofessional civil engineering experience. Supplemental Information Union Representation: SEIU Schedule: Schedule: 10-hour shifts, 4 days per week (Monday-Thursday) On-Site and up to 2 days remote work. Compensation for Engineering Technician II: The hourly range for this overtime eligible position is $30.13-$40.37 per hour. The starting pay assignment, based on an analysis of the successful candidate’s related experience and education in accordance with the City’s pay equity policy and the Oregon Equal Pay Act, would be no higher than $36.62 per hour.
