This position will work in the Roadside Environmental Unit. · In this position you will be directly involved with contract inspection as well as assisting with contract development and administration. · You will work closely with the Roadside Environmental Engineer to ensure that contracts for Rest Area Maintenance and Facility Maintenance are properly prepared and administered. · In this position you will have the responsibility to ensure that all work associated with said contracts is performed safely and according to contract specifications. · In this position you are required to perform a wide variety of standardized and non-standardized tests and the ability to analyze HVAC, Electrical and Plumbing systems problems and assist in the planning and organizing of materials, tools, equipment and personnel needed to make repairs in a timely manner and within budget constraints. · You are required to have the ability to employ critical thinking and sound judgment for minor decision making. You will be subject to both inside and outside environmental conditions. General knowledge of state and/or federal rules and regulations to determine compliance. General knowledge and skill in the use of equipment and software used for inspection. Ability to maintain standard records both physically and electronically. Ability to effectively use verbal and nonverbal skills to express routine or simple technical and /or program concepts and related facts in a clear, concise, organized manner. Employee must have the ability to lift and carry 50 lbs, climb, bend, traverse steep and uneven terrain, and work in extreme temperature conditions. Employee must have the ability to safely operate a motor vehicle. Must be able to work nights and weekends as required. Ability to verbally communicate with the general public. Work may include other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
