Engineering Technician IV, Metrology Engineer, Electrical Engineer
The Electrical Meteorology Engineer is the resident expert in his field and, in conjunction with the Kuwait Senior Engineer, provides engineering/consultant services to the Government of Kuwait (GOK). Conducts research and studies new equipment to ensure that the latest developments in technique and equipment are included in meteorology planning for future acquisition. Assists in the development and implementation of a Meteorology QA Program as required. Assists in obtaining and maintaining laboratory QA accreditation. Assesses requirements and develops new measurement techniques and approaches related to electrical, electronic and microwave measurement areas. Develops, tests and evaluates new calibration methodology, as well as performs analysis and evaluation of equipment. Establishes test and performance criteria, and prescribes calibration approaches, tests, equipment and servicing requirements necessary to ensure measurement traceability. Directs, conducts and evaluates the development of calibration procedures for assigned equipment. Conducts liaison and coordinates with technical societies and engineering facilities of other countries to remain current with state-of-the- art and new measurement techniques. Conducts detailed laboratory capability studies to achieve greater support efficiency. Develops laboratory operational, environmental, performance and safety criteria, and ensures implementation and maintenance. It is anticipated that Engineers will be assigned as these job descriptions state and other related specific tasking details and priorities will be determined and set by the Commander, KAFMB and communicated to the Contractor lead. Requires an Associate’s degree in electrical engineering, engineering technology, physics or a related technical field from an accredited college or university, and twelve (12) years of work experience operating, maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and calibrating electronic precision measurement equipment and calibration laboratory reference standards. Completion of a U.S. military precision measurement and calibration school and twelve (12) years of work experience in the meteorology and calibration field. Completion of a precision measurement and calibration school at an accredited school, or within a specialized calibration firm, and twelve (12) years of work experience operating, maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing and calibrating electronic precision measurement equipment and calibration laboratory reference standards. Five (5) years of experience in technical oversight and training responsibilities of calibration and repair technicians with three (3) years within the last five (5) Experience in researching requirements and maintaining calibration laboratory facility and related environmental control systems.
