JT4, LLC provides engineering and technical support to multiple western test ranges for the U.S. Air Force, Space Force, and Navy under the Joint Range Technical Services Contract, better known as J-Tech II. JT4 develops and maintains realistic, integrated test and training environments and prepares our nation's war-fighting aircraft, weapons systems, and aircrews for today's missions and tomorrow's global challenges.
JOB SUMMARY - ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES
An Engineering Technician IV provides support to the engineering and design staff by performing a variety of more complex or non-routine assignments during the installation, maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, calibration, testing, fabrication, construction, and operation of diverse electronic/mechanical equipment and systems in accordance with engineering specifications.
Employee will be responsible to perform the following functions/duties: Install, monitor, and service equipment and systems at the company and the client sites Assist with the test and evaluation, check-out, and certification tasks Perform validations/verifications of various electronic systems Review engineering change proposals for equipment impacts Assist in accomplishing engineering change instructions Develop technical/engineering data for planned maintenance systems, technical manuals, troubleshooting procedures, drawing updates, operation procedures, and maintainability improvements Support systems engineering activities with subject matter expertise Establish and maintain a filing system, databases, and logs for tracking project status and inventory Assist in providing the on-site customer interface for equipment/system installation, testing, fabrication, and other engineering tasks Comply with engineering documentation standards, engineering plans, system specification, and test procedures Provide technical data and evaluation for components, equipment, and systems consistent with engineering plans, layout, and contract requirements Serve as a senior technician and assist in the training of other technicians Support engineers in the development of technical proposals and provide comments on the technical content and level of effort of the proposed scope of work Use established policies and procedures and subject matter knowledge to complete assignments of moderate complexity that vary in nature and sequence Perform other job-related duties, as requiredRANGE POSITION DESCRIPTION
Install new cable lines, both underground and in buildings. Perform maintenance on existing cables, including evaluation tests and repairing old or malfunctioning cables. Cut and splice Cat 5/6 copper and fiber optic cables. Locate problem areas and perform other repairs as needed. Install and maintain network, public address, telephone, access control and security systems and determine solutions for any issues preventing the service from operating normally. Establishes and maintains filing systems, databases, and logs as needed for tracking project status and inventory. Duties are performed both indoors and outdoors. Outdoor duties may be performed on even or uneven surfaces, which may be dry or wet. Outdoor duties may be performed on gravel or shingled roof. Climbing stairs, ladders, towers, and scaffolds, indoors or outdoors, is required. Ability to work in a field environment with some shift work. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. (anything heavier requires two or more people or mechanical assistance). Travel to remote working locations may be required Required Qualifications: Must have the ability to lift heavy equipment, and crawl into small spaces. Must have general knowledge of electrical processes and familiarity with the equipment and tools used in the field. Must possess strong interpersonal skills and ability to successfully interact with teammates, customers, and employees of other companies who may be working on integrated projects.REQUIREMENTS - EDUCATION, TECHNICAL, AND WORK EXPERIENCE
The incumbent must have vocational/technical training beyond high school from an academic institution or military equivalent training and at least 7 years of job-related experience. The incumbent must have excellent communications and analytical skills and working knowledge of computer systems and integrated software application programs. The incumbent must possess planning/organizing skills and perform work under established deadlines. This position may require the ability to investigate, troubleshoot, and design solutions to problems in operational hardware and software. The Incumbent must have a valid, current state driver's license. Must obtain and maintain a security clearance with special access. Must be a U.S. citizen.SALARY
The expected salary range for this position is $63,273 to $79,040 annually.Note: The salary range offered for this position is a good faith description of the expected salary range this role will pay. Most positions involve work typical of office environment with no unusual hazards.
