GENERAL PURPOSEThe purpose of this position is to provide engineering support and documentation for the creation, modification, and maintenance of nonstandard products.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSDevelop digital fabric patterns for automated cutting equipment. Create match points and pattern matching logicSupport manufacturing associates through prototype and production buildsDevelop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for fabric/leather cutting and pattern matchingCreate and modify bills of material (BOM) in the HMI Operating System, understanding the implications of BOM structure changesDesign and modify parts to meet customer requirements within material specificationsRead, create, and modify drawings to support customer requestsUnderstand BOM codes such as inventory codes, P/C codes, and units of measureMake decisions based on sound engineering principlesWork cross-functionally with Purchasing, Manufacturing, Applications, CAD, and Order AdministrationDetail-oriented to ensure accuracy of delivered informationPerform in a team environment to ensure 100% on-time completion of workPerform additional responsibilities as needed to achieve business objectives

Education/Experience

2-4 years of experience in an engineering environment or as an Engineering technicianSkills and AbilitiesProficiency with PC-based computer systems and standard programs such as Excel and WordRead and comprehend routingsAbility to apply basic engineering procedures and practicesCapable of meeting deadlines and project completionsSelf-motivated and able to manage own workloadStrong team playerMechanical aptitude for developing solutions to customer requestsAbility to work under direct supervision
