As a Engineering Technician Senior , you will use survey, legal records, and data for disposal of excess land in highway Right-Of-Way (ROW) with coordination with the property management section in the ROW Bureau. This position also performs technical and administrative work in support of the District ROW staff and Maintenance Operations in respect to researching, evaluating land documents and field surveys. You will work under the supervision of the Assistant District Engineer (Transportation Engineer Executive) and the general direction of the District Land Surveyor (Land Surveyor Senior). This position includes office and field work. Duties include, but not limited to: + Serving as the property manager for the district to assist with the disposal or retention of ROW. This will involve working with District staff, Right-of-way Bureau, and public property owners. + Assisting the Land Surveyor Senior in researching, evaluating, and interpreting official records for the purpose of survey. + Re-establishing monuments including section corners and other survey points and assisting with staking of ROW. + Assisting District ROW staff to collect field data for completion of project development, T01 and T02 events. + Staking of DOT facilities or preliminary survey on small highway improvement projects. + Operating and maintaining survey equipment such as levels, total stations, GPS and data collectors. Special Requirements: Possess and maintain a valid Class C non-commercial driver’s license.
