Job Overview The Engineering Technician VI performs non-routine and complex assignments involving the responsibility for planning and conducting a complete project of relatively limited scope or a portion of a larger and more diverse project, selects and adapts plans, techniques, designs or layouts contact personnel is related activities to resolve problems and coordinate the work, reviews, analyzes, and integrates and technical work of others. Supervisor or professional engineer outlines objectives, requirements and design approaches. Complete work is reviewed for technical adequacy and satisfaction of requirements. This incumbent may train and be assisted by lower-level technicians and performs one or a combination of the following. Pay range: Max $38.28/hr Benefits: Health, vision, dental, life insurance, STD & LTD, PTO, Holiday, 401k. This position is open until filled. Work Model: Onsite/Office-Based Responsibilities Essential Duties & Job Functions: Working with NIWC Pacific Engineering Technician VI, will provide engineering & support services for various C2 facilities throughout the period of performance. Services required include supporting Engineers in the AV design and installation of space operations centers fusing mission systems and ops center workstations in a manner that provides quick mission assessment and decisional information to adequately affect kill chain decisions. Support the preparation of pre-installation, test, and checkout documents of all new AV equipment components and subcomponents. Support Cataloging and archiving software media included and/or created for AV equipment. Support the Installation of AV equipment components and subcomponents in locations specified in the IDP or as otherwise directed by the Government. Support equipment Configuration within the integrated AV system. Assist in the Identification any materials incidental to the integration task not provided. Assist in system testing in accordance with established test plan to ensure total operation and functional AV System regarding compatibly with interfacing/interacting systems, subsystems, equipment, and computer programs. Provide Troubleshooting and advise corrective action for maintenance and operational issues that may arise. Assist with the application of STIGS (Security Technical Implementation Guides) on associated system AV Components Support Integration of AV switch matrix in NIWC identified spaces. Integrate and configure AV management software suite within identified systems. Test AV equipment and switch matrix plans for NIWC identified systems. Apply Security Technical Implementation Guides to all AV solutions. Job Requirements Mandatory: Must have a High school diploma or equivalent GED and eleven (11) years in installation/integration experience. Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. Must have a TS/SCI clearance. Must be willing to work extended hours including weekends and holidays as required. Must be a U.S. citizen.
