Engineers & Designers - Civil Transportation (Toronto)
We are looking for engineers and designers of varied levels of experience who will work with a highly functioning, entrepreneurial, autonomous team and be responsible for providing design services and multi-disciplinary coordination.
The successful candidates will mainly support our Transportation Project Managers on detailed design projects for MTO, municipal, transit, rail and airport projects. Daily tasks will entail technical evaluation and designs for a wide variety of civil designs and related infrastructure, including application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria in carrying out a sequence of related design engineering tasks. Assignments will involve interpretation of design manuals and guidelines that will be evaluated by a senior level staff member.
Responsibilities
Prepares plans, profiles, sections, and miscellaneous details with limited to high complexity in support of broader engineering activities. Gathers and records information to be used for cost estimating. Prepares specifications. Conducts site inspections & investigations during design development process. Prepares minor technical reports or sections of larger reports. Produce plans, 3D models and 2D drawings using AutoCAD and Civil 3D, or MicroStation & InRoads. Interface with clients and attendance at meetings is required. Required to coordinate and manage civil engineering sub disciplines such as drainage, utilities, traffic, geotechnical, survey and others
Required Education | Experience:
2 to 10+ years of applicable experience in road, transportation, airport or transit design Certified Engineer Technician (C.E.T), Engineer-in-Training (EIT - Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering), or Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Ontario. Experience with Bentley MicroStation/InRoads/OpenRoads Experience with AutoCAD & Civil 3D
