Job Purpose
The Superintendent, Enhancements plays a pivotal role in overseeing and managing all on-site activities during the construction phase of projects. This role requires a combination of strong leadership, technical knowledge, and organizational skills to ensure that projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget while maintaining high-quality standards. The Superintendent, Enhancements collaborates closely with project managers, subcontractors, vendors, and other stakeholders to achieve project objectives.
Key Responsibilities
• Oversee on-site construction activities to ensure compliance with project specifications, safety regulations, and quality standards.
• Coordinate and schedule subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and completion of work according to project timelines.
• Monitor and enforce safety protocols to create a safe work environment for all personnel on site.
• Conduct regular site inspections and quality control checks to identify and address any issues or deviations from project plans.
• Manage and resolve conflicts or disputes that may arise on site, including addressing any issues related to subcontractor performance or work quality.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of daily progress, site conditions, and any incidents or delays that may impact the project schedule or budget.
• Ensure compliance in commercial and financial management including meeting budgets and identifying cost saving measures, and report on expenditure including forecasting on a monthly basis.
• Communicate regularly with project managers, clients, and other stakeholders to provide updates on project progress, milestones, and any potential risks or concerns.
• Collaborate with project managers to develop and implement strategies for mitigating risks and resolving any issues that may arise during construction.
• Assign competent resources to deliver the works within budget, time, quality, and regulatory standards, monitor and guide workflow, setting daily, weekly, and long-term project goals.
• Perform all duties in accordance with UGL and UGLRL policies, processes, systems, and procedures.
• Manage and oversee the commissioning and handover process for completed projects, including conducting final inspections and addressing any outstanding items or deficiencies.
• Coordination, collaboration and reporting on current and planned resource and plant requirements.
• Monitor labour and plant resourcing to ensure the project has the capability to achieve targets,
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or related field preferred.
• Cert IV in Rail Infrastructure preferred
• Protection Officer 2 preferred
• Current Class 1 (Minimum) Driving Licence
• Extensive experience in the planning, delivering and rostering in a construction and operational environment.
• Minimum 5 years previous construction or maintenance experience in a similar role.
