BASIC FUNCTION:
Carry out a full range of enrollment services activities. Advise and counsel students and families on all aspects of financial aid. Responsible for the direct supervision of Enrollment Service Representatives. Perform file review, verification, and awarding for students.
Duties and Responsibilities ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Advise students on enrollment services matters, including financial aid, billing, and student records. Counsel students and parents about financial aid eligibility, application procedures, aid programs, and costs.
Supervise and manage the activities of Enrollment Services Representatives and student employees, both undergraduate and graduate.
Analyze, review, and process financial aid applications and subsequent changes. Perform verification, award financial aid, and process appeals in accordance with federal and institutional requirements.
Utilize internal and external databases such as PeopleSoft, COD and NSLDS to evaluate student eligibility for aid.
Correspond with students, faculty, staff, and parents. Interpret and explain federal, state, and university policies, procedures, schedules, deadlines, and other operational information while fostering a culture of equity and inclusion.
Collaborate with the call center in resolving escalated issues.
Provide excellent customer service in the form of walk-ins (virtual/face to face), phone calls, emails, text, live chat (if available), and call center management.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist with the processing of all forms of student assistance. This includes loans (both federal and private), grant programs, private donor awards, merit scholarships, graduate assistantships, and student employment.
Serve as Enrollment Services representative for outreach events, including but not limited to Open Houses, Welcome Days, summer orientation, and FAFSA completion activities.
Perform other duties as assigned.
LICENSES, TOOLS, AND EQUIPMENT:
Personal computers, printers, word processing, database management and spreadsheet software; enterprise system software (e.g., PeopleSoft). Microsoft Office Suite.
Required Qualifications REQUIRED:
1. Bachelor’s degree.
2. Minimum of two years of experience in financial aid, billing/collections, and/or registration and records.
3. Demonstrated supervisory experience.
4. Demonstrated strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
5. Demonstrated proficiency in written communication skills.
6. Demonstrated ability to work with diverse groups/populations.
7. Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications PREFERRED:
1. Demonstrated experience working in a financial aid office in a higher education setting.
2. Demonstrated experience with student administration software system (i.e., PeopleSoft).
3. Demonstrated familiarity with external databases such as Common Origination and Disbursement (COD) and National Student Loan Data System (NSLDS).
4. Demonstrated intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
5. Demonstrated bilingual abilities (i.e., speaking, reading, writing, etc.)
