Enterprise Access IS Manager (Epic Cadence, Grand Central, Identity, Prelude & Referrals), Remote

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in related field and five years related experience.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

A minimum of 5 years of experience in Healthcare Information Technology is highly desirable. A minimum of 3 years of personnel management experience is preferred.  Experience in Ambulatory or Hospital Operations, Patient Scheduling, Registration, Referrals, or Access information systems is preferred but not required. 

Job Summary:

Responsible for the development, management, and security of information systems, daily operations of departmental personnel, process improvement, change management for growth and enhancements, and project management for new system implementations. Works in collaboration with leaders in Information Technology Services (ITS) and other divisions across the enterprise to support the departmental and institutional strategic plans.

  

Job Duties:

Responsible for the development, management, and security of information systems, daily operations of departmental personnel, process improvement, change management for growth and enhancements, and project management for new system implementations specifically regarding the Clinical IS Enterprise Access team. Works in collaboration with leaders in Information Technology Services (ITS) and other divisions across the enterprise to support the departmental and institutional strategic plans. Manages a team of 12 staff who are responsible for supporting Epic Cadence, Epic Grand Central, Epic Identity, Epic Prelude, and Epic Referrals across UTMB. Develops and implements operational plans for new and existing business computer applications. Participates in the development of project proposals for customers. Must be able to work within both a team-oriented environment and independently. Project management skills are preferred. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely through written and verbal communications is required. Strong interpersonal skills are required.

 Assists the Director in the development, review, and maintenance of strategic and operational plans for information technology tools and usage. Coordinates with the Director on the planning, design, development, and implementation of new application systems, and the maintenance of existing systems. Work with customers to develop and maintain a strategic plan for patient access and registration. Provides effective project management for all assigned initiatives. Prepares regular project status reports to inform leadership of project status and any deviation from project goals. Serves as the primary customer contact for ambulatory and inpatient access, which includes the periodic need to travel between the four campuses (Galveston, League City, Clear Lake, and Angleton) and various clinic sites within these regions to meet with customers. Manages ITS staff by recruiting, training, promoting, disciplining, and coaching employees, communicating job expectations, and evaluating their performance. Works and interacts closely with cross-functional teams to build collaborative working relationships to support the institution’s vision and mission. Identifies functional and technical aspects of issues and integrates appropriate resources to meet business requirements. Demonstrates the ability to communicate effectively across cultural boundaries and work harmoniously with diverse groups. Identifies appropriate internal controls for the department; provides mechanisms to monitor and enforce compliance. Performs related duties as required.

Salary Range:

 Actual salary commensurate with experience.

 

Work Schedule:

Remote position: M-F 8a-5p and on-call support for staff as needed. Occasional weekend work to support system upgrades or special projects.
