An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Enterprise Architect to join the Enterprise Architecture, Infrastructure & Platforms team, based in Derby.
As an Enterprise Architect, you will be responsible for the Cloud and On-Premise hosting layer of the enterprise architecture to ensure that it supports integrated, effective, and compliant operation of business processes.
You’ll be researching new tools and technologies and defining our forward-looking strategy that will shape the future of our business. We’ll actively support your development and your path to professional accreditation, as well as offering flexible working.

What you will be doing
With this attractive opportunity you will get a chance to:
Create and take ownership of the infrastructure layer of the Enterprise Architecture model, with specific focus on Compute, Hosting and Cloud.
Define the technology strategy for Compute, Hosting and Cloud, incorporating public cloud, on-premise hosting, servers and storage.
Own the 5-year roadmap of investments for Compute, Hosting and Cloud, including indicative costs, timescales, and development of supporting business case.
Define and communicate capable Reference Architectures and other Architecture Building Blocks (ABB) for use in the design and delivery of solutions.
Identify new technologies and products for exploitation across the enterprise, and opportunities for optimisation.
Liaise with other internal Rolls-Royce teams and stakeholders, including Enterprise Architecture, IT Solution Teams, and IT Security, as well as outsourced service providers to enable the execution of the strategy.

To be successful in this role you will need:
Extensive IT Architecture experience with proven track record of developing and defining enterprise scale strategies.
Strong domain knowledge of Compute, Hosting and Cloud, including data centres, public cloud, servers and storage and extensive experience of building enterprise-scale hosting capabilities across a global estate.
Demonstrable knowledge of compute and storage technology stacks (Microsoft, Linux, VMware, Dell EMC), and public cloud technologies, such as Microsoft Azure, SaaS, IaaS and PaaS.
Broad technical knowledge of current, emerging, and future technology market trends and their impact on the business.
Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to adapt style to audience.
Ideally TOGAF Certified, with Infrastructure related architecture certification (e.g. VCP) or equivalent experience.
