What will you be doing?

 

The Enterprise Architect plays a pivotal role in technology consulting services engagements, acting as a strategic advisor and a bridge for business-technology alignment. This individual works closely under the guidance of the Chief Architect during Professional Services engagements, ensuring that the vision and direction are consistently upheld across various complex customer projects. In collaboration with Lead or Principal consultants, as well as other interdisciplinary teams, the Enterprise Architect is instrumental in orchestrating the delivery of solutions that are not only technically sound but also drive meaningful business outcomes. As a leader in both technical acumen and business strategy, this role demands active engagement with WWT Engineers and Architects to ensure seamless integration of services while also interfacing with customer technical or business leaders to guarantee that project deliverables resonate with client objectives and add strategic value.

 

The Enterprise Architect may be tasked with leading customer-facing service projects of varying sizes and complexities. These projects often involve developing deliverables such as white papers, plans, strategies, designs, assessments, and business case analyses. When designated as the Solution/Technical leader, the Enterprise Architect will partner and collaborate with the Project Management Organization (PMO) to ensure the successful delivery of the project by aligning technical and business strategies, resolving risks and issues, and maintaining clear communication to meet project outcomes.

 

Responsibilities:

 

Solutions / Technical Leadership:

Understand all client scopes and objectives, serving as the primary solution/technical voice facing the client and the escalation point internally for WWT employees, partners, and contractors. Partner with the PMO counterpart to resolve risks and issues upon identification. Resolve technical risks and issues using your background and the resources available within WWT. Ensure staff, contractors, and partners follow WWT best practices and templates, delivering consistent and high-quality outputs. Review deployment documents, technical assessments, and other technical outputs to ensure a consistent tone as defined by “One Voice.” Manage projects as if they were your own stand-alone business, focusing on profitability and professionalism. Develop and implement comprehensive strategies for Infrastructure & Operations (I&O) Transformation and Modernization to revamp end-to-end data centers, cloud services, networks, security, and application rationalization both on-premises and in the cloud. Possess expertise and practical experience in developing comprehensive technology roadmaps that encompass business, data, applications, infrastructure, and security.

 

Primary Duties:

Act as the technical/line of business contact between WWT and the customer from project inception to completion, ensuring the team meets the customer’s desired outcomes. Demonstrate the ability to carry out architecture activities and methodologies leading to comprehensive discovery, analysis, and technical/business recommendations. Exhibit advanced communication skills, including business/technical writing and presentations. Present in-depth technical solutions effectively. Self-motivate and energize the project team. Drive to exceed customer and project goals. Provide thoughtful leadership and innovative thinking. Maintain a positive customer service attitude. Ensure the delivery of project work, ongoing quality, adherence to standards and delivery methodologies, and availability of appropriate resources to meet current and future project demands. Foster long-term client relationships with a proven track record of customer focus. Possess expert knowledge of project architectural principles and practices. Flexibility to support multiple time zones and a limited amount of international support. Willing to travel 25-50% of the time. Proactively detect technical deficiencies and develop practical, workable solutions. Take full responsibility for the overall execution and delivery of critical tasks or projects.
