The opportunity:

In your role you will become a member of the Architecture Chapter. The Architecture Chapter provides the capabilities required to plan and develop Informatics solutions and build roadmaps and strategies to set the direction for the future.

As an Enterprise Architect you will partner with relevant stakeholders in business and foundational domains, product lines, product management and lean portfolio management, and provide the expertise needed to bring together the different requirements and dimensions needed to support the development of the current and future direction; translating the overall business strategy(s) into an informatics strategic direction.

Additionally you will bring an understanding of the external market, drive the research and examination of new technologies to innovate and evaluate the next generation of fit-for-purpose solutions.


 

As Enterprise Architect you will: 

Architecture

Play a key role in the strategic planning on domain, product line and product level by establishing a technology and information strategy and roadmap that enables a portfolio to support current and future business capabilities connecting the business and IT strategy

You drive the design, engineering, reuse of applications or patterns, which includes the creation of Enabler Epics for the architectures that comprise the solutions in a portfolio; ensuring a continuous flow of value and improving the time to market 

You have a focus on reusable technology and information to maintain the architectural runway leveraging a composable architecture (i.e. creating reliable easy to compose and consume components) 

You drive the research and examination of new technologies including the feasibility assessment that provide insights on the scalability and cross domain usage

Put a strong focus on the enabling the flow and access on information and manage the information security in the domain, product line and products you are supporting in order to optimize the information and data sharing across the enterprise

You manage the evolution of the domain IT Landscape and ensure it enables the business strategies. You document and maintain the current and future / desired IT landscape in collaboration with solution architects of the domain, product line, products you are supporting

You guide and coach implementation teams and solution architects on the technical architecture implementation activities, particularly for new and/or shared solutions

Business Domain

Develop and maintain the clinical domain architecture strategy and roadmap, aligning it with the overall enterprise architecture framework.

Support clinical landscape  planning by providing architectural insights and recommendations for efficient and effective project execution.

Contribute to the design and implementation of clinical, regulatory, safety, medical affairs landscape, ensuring data integrity, compliance, and adherence to industry standards.

Support implementation programs and strategies for the  collection, management, and analysis of clinical data, ensuring data quality and consistency.

Drive the development and implementation of clinical data analysis and reporting frameworks, enabling evidence-based decision making.

Ensure compliance with pharmacovigilance and safety reporting requirements, collaborating with relevant stakeholders to mitigate risks.

Stay up-to-date with regulatory requirements and changes, ensuring that the PDALM domain architecture (clinical, regulatory, safety, medical affairs, quality and compliance)  remains compliant and adaptable.

Provide expertise and guidance in evaluating and selecting clinical development tools, technologies, and vendors.

Who you are:

Experience

Extensive experience (7-10 years) in the drug development domain, architecting/implementing solutions in the areas of clinical project planning, study design, data collection and management, data analysis and reporting, pharmacovigilance and safety reporting, regulatory management, and medical affairs.

Demonstrated ability of managing architecture on portfolio level

Ability to build/create proof of concept/pilot applications to showcase platform functionality to business partners/stakeholders.

Proven experience in designing and implementing domain architecture solutions in a complex and dynamic environment.

Strong understanding of the end-to-end clinical development process and related technologies, standards, and regulations (e.g., CDISC, ICH-GCP, FDA, EMA)

Academic requirement

Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree in Information Technology or equivalent

A certification or detailed knowledge of the TOGAF architecture framework or comparable architecture methodologies is a plus

A certification or detailed knowledge of the SAFe framework or comparable agile delivery methodologies is a plus such as the  Open Agile Architecture standard

A certification or detailed knowledge in the area of Cloud Computing, Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence is a plus

Key competencies/skills

Has a strong passion to bring value-adding technology to the business. 

Has a strong understanding, embraces and actively acts in the VACC roles depending on the situation given 

Has the ability to apply systems thinking and consider both dimensions: within and across portfolios (domains)

Exhibits strong soft skills typically required as an Architect (i.e.: presentation and public speaking, negotiation, challenging the status quo, explaining complex matters in a simple way)
